Abstract

Fungi belonging to the Ganoderma genus have been widely studied because of their
phytopatogenic and medicinal potential. However, due to its morphological variability, the genus
has been considered in a status of “taxonomic chaos”. In this study, a specimen of the
Ganoderma genus originary of the State of Veracruz (México) was isolated and described from a
morphological and molecular viewpoint, and also was identified according to its phylogenetic
affinity.
