The carpophores production of two strains of Pleurotus, P. pulmonarius (IE-115) and P. ostreatus (IE-728) was evaluated, in order to
assess the productivity in two agricultural wastes, under rustic conditions in Orilla del Monte community, Jalacingo, Veracruz, Mexico.
The biological efficiency (EB), production rate (TP) and yield (R) on corn stover and oat straw, were evaluated. The following treatments
were performed: CS 100% (A), OS 100% (B), CS 50%-OS 50%% (C) and CS 20%-OS 80% (D). Three crops were obtained in a period
production from 45 to 61 days in the tested substrates. The highest BE was observed on D-IE-728 treatment, with 139.66%, while the
lowest was the B-IE-115 treatment, with 103.61%. The highest PR was bserved with treatment D-IE-115 (1.99%) and the lowest with
A-IE-728 (1.25%). The highest Y obtained was 31.56% (D-IE-728) and the lowest was A-IE-728 (21.81%). The best substrate (D) was
statistically different (p<0.05) from the others. No statistical difference was observed among strains (p>0.05), with the exception of the
mean production rate
