The effect of the mineral oil citroline (agrochemical, insecticide and conidial
dispersant agent) in the viability, and in the proteases and chitinases production of
Metarhizium anisopliae var. acridum was studied. Citroline showed a significant difference
(p<0.05) in fungal viability when compared to the control without citroline (81.4% reduction
of colony forming units). Although citroline didn't show significant effect (p>0.05) in the
fungal production of proteases and chitinases, the activities’ halos were always reduced by
the mineral oil, in 24.4 and 14.4%, respectively. The results suggest a negative effect on the
viability of the fungus
