Abstract

Mushroom production of a strain of Pleurotus pulmonarius was evaluated on
jicama stubble (Pachyrrhizus erosus) fermented, on sun-dried jicama stubble and on mixtures
of this substrate with corn stubble (Zea mays). Additionally the production was evaluated on
mezcalero maguey bagasse (Agave cupreata) fermented and mixed with rice straw (Oryza
sativa). On substrates mixed were observed the highest biological efficiencies reaching from
111.16 to 163.79%, production rate from 2.22 to 3.41% and period of production from 45
to 54 days.
