Abstract

Fifty-seven species of Aphyllophorales from the National Forest Reserve and
Wildlife Refuge Ajos-Bavispe, located at Sonora, Mexico, were studied. Thirty-seven taxa are
new records for the Sonoran mycobiota and five species are cited for the first time to Mexico:
Inonotus texanus, Phellinus arctostaphyli, Meruliopsis ambigua, Perenniporia fraxinophila and
Hyphodontia apacheriensis. The highest number of species were found fruiting on pine-oak
wood (32), followed by pine-oak wood gallery forest (25) and mezquital (14), and belong
mainly to Hymenochaetaceae (20) and Coriolaceae (16). Polyporus arcularius and
Schizophyllum commune showed the widest distribution.
