Biomass mycelial rate and laccase activity by thirty Pleurotus strains were
evaluated during two successive cultures on three culture media: malt extract agar
(AEM), yeast and malt extract agar with induline (AEML-DSL) and coffee pulp agar (APC).
The strains presented variable results, although in general they increased biomass rate
on AEML-DSL, while the APC medium favoured laccase activity, in comparison with AEM
cultures. The strains of P. ostreatus and P. pulmonarius presented more biomass rate
than the strains of P. djamor, but the latter reached more laccase activity, therefore this
species has a high potential capacity through substrate biodegradation
