In order to quantify damage reduction by Trámeles versicolor in apple trees, treatments involving only pruning and
solarization, as well as the addition of manure, alfalfa, lime and fungicides to the soil were implemented for two
consecutive growing seasons. Pruning and lime promoted a better growth development, as long as the soil pH did not
exceed 7.0. Pruning and triadimenol or PCNB-thiram induced similar results. Just pruning-solarization, or pruning-alfalfa,
or pruning-manure, did not reduce damage. However, the aspect of the trees improved when fungicide was included. The
best combinatíon of treatments was pruníng-triadimenol. Pruning-PCNB+thiram was the second choice treatment. Pruning
and lime may as well be satisfactory, provided the previously mentioned restriction.
