This work proposes selection criteria for strains with variable genetic nature based on
percentage of germination, length of germ tube (LGT) and sporulation of 94 isolates, 18 multisporic (parental) and 76
monosporic cultures. Thirteen parental are Beauveria bassiana isolated from Hypothenemus hampei except the other five
remaining with different species and host. The germination of 95% of the isolates at 24 h allowed to observe differences
among B. bassiana obtained from H. hampei with those isolated from others hosts and Beauveria species; regarding LGT,
the range of 1-40 um was the media between isolates of genera Beauveria and Verticillium lecanii. The 107 sp/ml
sporulation was established as the ideal concentration for selection of isolates. In the cluster analysis the germination rate,
LGT and sporulation data showed a tendency of the parental and monosporics isolates to group by species and host.
