Abstract

The mushroom production of Pleurotus ostreatus in a compost of coffee
pulp with barley straw (relation 2:1) with different periods of fermentation
was high and stable. The highest biological efficiency was of 102.68% with
the strain INIREB-8 in the compost with five days of fermentation. Mter
ten days of fermentation, the compost became less suitable for mushroom
cultivation, giving no fruiting body formation at twenty days of fermentation.
