103 species of mycorrhizal ectotrophic higher fungi from the southeastern México
are discussed in five types of vegetation: 1) Tropical rain forest, 2) Tropical
oak forest, 3) Deciduous forest, 4) Pine-oak forest, and 5) Fir forest. Of these, the
pine-oak forest is the most important for the ectotropic fungí, with 93 of the 104
studied species. It is interesting to note that the ectotrophic fungi were found also
in the tropical rain forest, contrary to the Information in the bibliography. Amanita,
Russula, Lactarius, and the family Boletaceae are the most important but Cortinarius
and Inocybe were not studied in this paper.
