Abstract

Two strains of Pleurotus ostreatus and P. pulmonarius were cultivated on dry stems
of jamaica (Hibiscus sabdariffa) (SJ) pure and mixed with rice straw in ratio 2:1 (SJS),
pseudostem with fresh leaves of banana (Musa paradisiaca) (PFB). The highest productivity
was obtained on the substrate PFB, reaching biological efficiencies (BE) of 96.4 and 99.8%,
and yield (Y) of 14.9 and 15.4%. In the other substrates the parameters fluctuated between
64.5 to 81.7% (BE), and 20.0 to 22.3% (Y).
