Diversity of wood decay fungi in five pine species in Nuevo Leon, Mexico

76 taxa causing wood decay were identified; out of them 53 were white rot fungi
and 23 brown rot fungi. The highest fungal species richness was recorded on Pinus
pseudostrobus and P. teocote with a similarity index of 48%. The highest diversity of fungi was
observed at elevation ranges between 1660 and 2200 m altitude. Dacrymyces dictiosporus,
Gloeophyllum saepiarium, Meruliopsis ambigua, Phellinus pini, and Trichaptum abietinum
were the species that presented the highest altitudinal range distribution
