A plant for edible mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) production in Guatemala

The first commercial farm for the cultivation of Pleurotus ostr eatus (Jacq .
ex Fr. ) Kumm . in Guatemala is described . Mushroom production during June- August,
1987, was of 542 kg. The biological efficiency during such period was of 140 %.
Fresh mushrooms were commercialized and widely accepted in the market
