Aspects on the use and distribution of Pycnoporus sanguineus (Polyporaceae) in Mexico

Data on the use of Pycnoporus sanguineus (L:Fr . ) Murr. which produces necrosis
of warts are presented. The presence of cinnabarinic acid and cinnabarine pigments
in the basidiocarps were determined by thin l ayer chromatography . This spec ies is
tropical and subtropical , and it is known f r om 24 federative entities of Mexico
