To known the action of the fungicide Tecto- 60 , 8 banana
crown rot fungi were isolated for the first time in Mexico:
Botryodiplodia theobromae Pat .; Fus arium graminearum Schwabe ;
Verticillium theobromae (Turc . ) Mason & Hughes ; Nigrostora
sphaerica (Sacc .) Mason ; Cladosporium cladosporioidesFr esen . )
de Vries ; Pestalotia leprogena Speg.; Chaetomium globosum Kunze
ex Fr. and Trichoderma viride Pe r s. ex Fr . In vitro experiments
on the Tecto- 60 action was studied and a concentration of 800
ppm was fo und to inhibit the growth of the fungi studied wi th
excepti on of Verticillium theobromae which was resistant to all
the concentrations used. Furthermore, Tecto- 60 had a significant
effect upon in vivo tested banana crown rot at a concentration
of 800 ppm .
