Ethnomycological collection in three locations of the municipality of Acambay, Mexico State

Abstract

The information concerning to the knowledge and use of the mushrooms
from three communities of the Aeambsy'a municipality, State of
Mexico, during the rainy seasons of 1984 and 1985 is presented. 139 lo
cal common names (40 names in Otomian language) are recorded, corres-ponding
with 55 species of maerofungi, of which 50 are Basidiomycetes ,
4 Ascomycetes and one is a lichen. The studied mushrooms belong to 5
anthropocentric categories: edible mushrooms (28 species); toxic species
(12); medicinal sp ecie s (9); insecticide species (1) and dyeing
fungi (1).
