Two strains of Conidiobolus corónalas (Cost.) Tyrrel & Mac Leod (= Entomophthora
corónala (Cost.) Kevork.), one isolated from insects and another from a human
case of rhinoentomophthoromycosis were sutided, regarding the effect of physical
and nutritional factors (temperature, pH, nitrogen and carbón sources and vitamins
requirements) on their growth, to observe any differences or similarítíes
between them. For both strains, the best temperature for growth was 21° C., and
a pHrange from 5.0 to 8.0. All nitrogen and carbón sources studied were asimilated,
except nitrate and sacarose. Only one strain had vitamin requirements.
